Politics has always been a significant part of Kennedy's life interests. In 1981 Kennedy, as the youngest Diplomat of the revolution, he worked as the Commercial Attaché in Grenada's Embassy in Cuba and then as Co-ordinator for Technical and Economic Cooperation between Grenada and Cuba . He has also worked at various other senior levels in our public service, including the Ministries of Finance & Planning, and Health.
Kennedy served as Chairman of the National Insurance Board, the Micro Enterprise Unit and the National Population Council, and Board member of Grenada Electricity Services, Grenada Save the Children Development Agency (GRENSAVE), Grenada Planned Parenthood Association, Grenada Cooperative Nutmeg Association and the National Housing Authority.
From 1998 to present, Kennedy has been a senior member of the New National Party and served as Assistant Recording Secretary and Public Relations Officer. He also worked as part of a dedicated team to establish the NNP Youth Arm in 1999. His vision of “Building Healthier, Stronger Families and Communities” encourages the spiritual, physical, knowledge, and skill based development of all individuals.
He states that this growth must not just be for individuals, but must also embrace the entire community to be meaningful and long-lasting. Kennedy looks forward to continuing his work to improve housing and health conditions in St. George North East. He sees the creation of pre-primary centres and sports groups as vital to providing care for the very young, and adolescent to mature youth. Providing quality care for the elderly is high on his list of social priorities, and he is reaching out to persons who want to be involved in making a real difference in the lives of the residents of St. George North East.
Family is Kennedy's passion – his parents, siblings, wife, and children form a strong, supportive network of caring and sharing. He invites you to work with him to make our vision of building a positive and productive community environment in St. George North East, one with Healthier, Stronger Families, an NNP reality. |
